The Ward 8 Community Liaison Program is a volunteer, collaborative effort both to inform residents and to help effect change to make life even better in Eastport. Community Liaison volunteers work with the alderman to coordinate improvements in the ward and to provide timely information to residents.

The program is designed to proactively share information concerning ongoing actions, city procedures and policies Using repeatable processes and responding to residents’ questions and concerns. 

 

The goal is to be agile and responsive to residents’ needs in a timely manner. Effective constituent service requires a team of volunteers who are each current on specific topics and provide consumable information using this website and other methods of communication such as town halls and “8 Points for Ward 8” emails. 

The keys to success of the program are: 

• An engaged alderman coordinating between residents and city staff 

• Engaged volunteers who coordinate specific topics in support of keeping residents informed and supporting change/improvements in their areas 

• Focus on distribution of information
